The Waldenbooks store in the Mall at Cortana is set to close Saturday. A spokeswoman for Borders Group, which owns the Waldenbooks chain, says the closing is part of a companywide initiative that’s been going on since March 2007. That Borders opened a Mall of Louisiana store in August probably was another factor in the closing, company officials say.
