Chris Slaughter, who spent nearly 30 years at New Orleans TV station WWL, is now the executive producer for WAFB-TV news. Slaughter will take over the newly created position next month, says Robb Hays, WAFB news director. Slaughter will primarily be responsible for managing WAFB’s investigative reporting unit, the I-Team. Slaughter started on the WWL staff in the late 1970s and became news director of the CBS affiliate in fall 2006. During that time, WWL earned a George Foster Peabody Award, the top honor in broadcast journalism, for a series of investigative reports.
