Uncommon Thread, play on tap for weekend

Uncommon Thread, the popular CultureCandy wearable art competition, is back for another year at 8 p.m. Friday, with a brand-new theme: Transmogrify! Entries from all over the country will strut the catwalk at the Old Governor’s Mansion, accompanied by modern dance, musical performances and much more. Tickets are $20 and available here. The Baton Rouge Little Theatre’s run of the family farce, It Runs in the Family, continues this week through May 22. Beleaguered Dr. Mortimore just wants to deliver the Ponsonby Lecture at an international medical conference, but he must first fend off a paternity suit, a vengeful ex-wife and an adolescent, punk-obsessed son before his dreams can come true.
