Two Baton Rouge law offices are relocating to a Siegen Lane office park on Monday following the recent purchase in separate transactions of two buildings in the park.
Attorneys Frank Tomeny and Lawrence Gettys jointly bought a pair of buildings measuring roughly 2,500 square feet each at 9191 Siegen Lane. One building was purchased for $420,000 from L J Palmer Properties, and the other for $465,500 from Savoie Financial Group LLC, according to records filed with the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court.
Tomeny says his firm, Tomeny Law Firm, will relocate to the office park from its current space at 6421 Perkins Road on Monday. Meanwhile, the Baton Rouge offices of Heard Robins and Cloud LLP—a Houston-based firm at which Gettys is a partner—will move to the Siegen Lane site from its current offices at 6709 Perkins Road.
Tomeny says his firm and Heard Robins will occupy between 60% and 70% of the total space in the two buildings. The rest of the space, which could accommodate to two or three offices, will be leased to younger attorneys who are looking for a professional environment, he says.
The attorneys, operating as GETTOM LLC, initially hoped to build a four-building office complex in the Perkins Palms mixed-use development located between Kenilworth Parkway and Staring Lane. But the pair sold the land over the last two years in separate transactions to Investar Bank and Island Times LLC, which is affiliated with The Rum House. Investar and Rum House now use the land as parking space for their businesses. —Kelly Connelly
