Get a jumpstart on working off those extra calories later consumed during Thanksgiving excess at the March of Dimes’ 24th annual Turkey Trot on Thursday morning. Go your own pace with the one-mile fun run or turkey walk, or test your endurance on the 5K. Dress up in your best Thanksgiving-themed costumes to win the post-walk costume contest. Pre-registration is $25, and day-of registration is $30. Registration is from 6 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. at Convention and Third streets downtown, with the fun run and turkey walk to start at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K at 8 a.m. Awards will be given out for the top three male and female finishers in each age division.
