The building, which was originally constructed for the Live Oak Supermarket in Denham Springs, has been sold. Lee Audibert of ASA Properties represented the purchaser, the Freedom Church of Livingston. Audibert says this is a non-denominational church that has location in Baker and Denham Springs. The Freedom Church will re-locate its Denham Springs congregation after the building has been rehabilitated. Renovations are currently underway, and the building should be ready for the church to occupy in approximately three months.
The property had been listed for $1.2 million and sold for $950,000. It contains 15,792 square feet, making the sale price per square foot calculate to just over $60. The building is situated on a site containing 1.96 acres with 320 feet of frontage on La. Highway 16. The site has 75 paved parking spaces, and room for expansion of the building. According to Audibert, the purchase at $60 per square foot was far below the cost necessary to construct and it was good stewardship for the church to purchase the existing building. The property was owned by the Bank of Greensburg and was listed for sale by Bill Gremillion with NAI/Latter & Blum Realtors.
