Of course, all art shows have visual elements. But on Saturday at the Baton Rouge Gallery, the Surreal Salon IV art show and exhibition will take visualization to an entirely other level. Surreal Salon IV is a juried exhibition of artwork from the pop surrealist movement submitted by artists from around the country. In years past, patrons attending the soirĂ©e and exhibition have dressed in surreal costume, and joined in fresh surreal spins on traditional salon games. Guest juror and Los Angeles-based artist Casey Weldon, a rising star in pop surrealist art, will judge this year’s show, which will feature as many as 45 pieces. The music of Mobley and Prom Date will help set the evening’s tone. Wear a surrealist-inspired costume and get in for $15 (otherwise admission is $20). Show begins at 7 p.m. and wraps up at 11 p.m. Click here for more info, and check out the rest of this week’s 225 Select newsletter here.
