A video game streaming technique developed by local firm BitRaider went live today with the debut of VIE: Virtual Island of Entertainment, by enVie Interactive. The BitRaider technology allows players to begin playing as soon as they get enough of the game to start, without a separate installation process, BitRaider says. Once the game is running, the technology stays ahead of the players, allowing them to play the game with little to no interruption. BitRaider, which announced in May a move from Jacksonville, Fla., to the Louisiana Technology Park on Florida Boulevard, says it spent five years developing and testing the process.
