BATON ROUGE (AP) — The Louisiana Department of Revenue is laying off 29 workers, but not until after tax day.
The agency said Tuesday that budget cuts forced the layoffs and the closure of its office in Thibodaux. The moves will save an estimated $1 million per year.
The layoffs take effect on June 26. Louisiana tax returns are due on May 15.
