Louisiana continues to rank among the most friendly states toward small businesses, according to the results of a recent national survey of over 6,000 small-business owners by Thumbtack.com and the Kauffman Foundation. New data released today shows Louisiana was given an “A” for it’s small-business friendliness. That’s the same grade Louisiana received in a survey conducted last year by Thumbtack and Kauffman. “Louisiana soared above its rivals nationwide in a variety of rankings, earning numerous ‘A+’, ‘A’, and ‘A-‘ grades in a variety of categories where it achieved top rankings—No. 5 most friendly state overall towards small businesses, No. 8 easiest state overall for starting a new business, No. 4 friendliest business regulations nationwide, and No. 3 friendliest licensing regulations nationwide,” the survey says. “The state’s small businesses also ranked themselves as the No. 6 most healthy nationwide.” Louisiana got its worst grade—a “D”—in the hiring costs category.
