State oil marketers association gets new office

The Louisiana Oil Marketers & Convenience Store Association is set to move into a new office in mid-March. The group purchased a 3,700-square-foot building on Bankers Avenue for $840,901 earlier this week, according to records with the Clerk of Court’s Office. Natalie Isaacks, executive director, says this is the first time the 60-year-old organization will own its offices. Isaacks says she started working on getting the LOMCSA its own offices when she took over as head of the organization six years ago. “There was no existing building to suit our needs,” she says, so the organization worked with the Powell Group to build a new space from the ground up. The LOMCSA has about 2,000 square feet of space in its current South Acadian Thruway offices. Issacks says more space is needed, since the organization now has a contract with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality to provide educational training on underground gas storage tanks. —Timothy Boone
