The work of a number of Baton Rouge area companies and organizations will be highlighted next month as part of a new effort to spotlight innovative products and practices being created across the state for Louisiana Innovation Month.
The monthlong campaign is being spearheaded by the Louisiana Innovation Council and Louisiana Economic Development. Pitch competitions, technology showcases, social media gatherings, networking events and awards ceremonies for emerging companies will all be held statewide throughout the month. Additionally, LED will highlight innovative firms in its quarterly publication, EQ, and on its website, opportunitylouisiana.com.
Local companies that will be recognized during the month include Marucci Sports, PreSonus and Cellcontrol. The Water Institute of the Gulf and the Baton Rouge Area Foundation will also be honored. In total, more than two dozen Louisiana companies and organizations will be recognized during the month for their work.
“Louisiana has had a rich history of producing and supporting innovators who have brought significantly greater value to their companies, communities and the state,” says Louisiana Innovation Council Chairman Les Guice in a prepared statement. “Louisiana Innovation Month gives us the opportunity to shine a light on a few of those who are having a significant impact today and are inspiring others to be our innovators of tomorrow.”
Specifics on the events planned for the month are to be announced. LED has more details on Louisiana Innovation Month.
