A squirrel got into some equipment and blew some fuses, causing more than 2,700 people to be without power across East Baton Rouge Parish this morning, an Entergy spokesperson tells WBRZ-TV.

The outages were reported in Zachary and Baker shortly after 7:30 a.m., and power was expected to be restored by 10 a.m.

According to The Washington Post, it’s not uncommon for squirrels to be the source of power outages. As of 2016, squirrels caused between 10% and 20% of power outages in the U.S., regularly causing headaches for residents, businesses and energy companies.
