Busted? Deadspin is reporting a tipster has led them to a Phenix City, Ala., man who they believe is the Alabama fan in a video that’s gone viral on the Internet showing an LSU fan being assaulted in the Bourbon Street Krystal restaurant following LSU’s loss to the Crimson Tide in the BCS game. “We think we’ve found him,” the website says in an article you can read here. “We’re leaving his last name off for now, but two different sources emailed us identifying the same Brian; one provided the photos you see here and gave us Brian’s phone number, address, the name of his wife, and the sporting goods store where he supposedly works, Hibbett Sports.” Meanwhile, another website called Outkick the Coverage is reporting they’ve identified the man, too, and it appears to be the same man Deadspin has found; and the Columbus (Ga.) Ledger-Enquirer reports authorities have contacted the man.

Archie says no to Lowe: Actor Rob Lowe’s tweet on Wednesday that Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning is retiring has generated plenty of talk but no confirmation as to whether it’s true. Manning’s father, former New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning, tells ESPN his son “ain’t retiring. I think he would have told me.” Peyton Manning’s agent, Tom Condon, says this is the first he’s heard about it, according to NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora. Colts owner Jim Irsay, who is friends with Lowe, responded with a Twitter jab at Lowe but did not directly address the fate of his team’s quarterback. Read more from The Indianapolis Star here.

Marching out: New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr. is being interviewed today for the Indianapolis Colts head coaching job, league sources confirm. Carmichael has been with the Saints since 2006 and took on a greater role this past season, sharing play-calling duties with Coach Sean Payton after Payton suffered his leg injury at Tampa Bay in Week 6. The Oakland Raiders also received permission from the Saints to interview Carmichael for their head-coaching job, but it’s unclear if an interview has been scheduled. Also, former secondary coach Tony Oden is leaving for the same job with the Jacksonville Jaguars, The Times-Picayune reports. Oden spent one year as the Saints’ primary secondary coach; he replaced Dennis Allen last year. Before that, Oden was the Saints’ assistant secondary coach.
