The line starts here: You’ve got until Tuesday to get on the waiting list for one of the new 3,000 seats or 60 suites to be added to Tiger Stadium’s south end zone. The Tiger Athletic Foundation has the full details, and is accepting applications and deposits before Tuesday’s deadline online here. TAF says it will begin to call donors in mid-August to begin the process of awarding seats and suites.
Spilled ink: Tom Benson, owner of the New Orleans Saints and the Hornets, sent a letter to one of the owners of The Times-Picayune Wednesday expressing his interest in purchasing the newspaper, the paper reports. In the letter to Steve Newhouse, a member of the family that owns the paper, Benson seeks a meeting to discuss a purchase. “If this is something that is an option, we can initiate this at your earliest convenience,” Benson says. Newhouse responded today by reiterating that the company will not entertain an offer to sell the newspaper to Benson. Nonetheless, the full story and Benson’s letter can be found here.
Just a cub? Last week, a hopeful prospect showed up at LSU’s football camp. He posted an impressive 4.46 40-yard dash, and he earned a scholarship offer from the Tigers’ coaching staff for his efforts. As ESPN reports, the scene was one that plays out on college campuses across the country every single summer, but this offer was different for one main reason—Dylan Moses has yet to start eighth grade. Considering the Tigers are only just starting to hand out offers to members of the Class of 2014, it came as a bit surprise for a 2017 prospect to get one. Check out the full story for more on Moses, and get analysis from ESPN’s talking heads here.
