These dogs are barking: In the Georgia Bulldogs’ past four games, quarterback Aaron Murray has thrown for 876 yards, 14 touchdowns and just two interceptions. He currently leads the SEC in passing efficiency with a rating of 155.4. His 2,698 yards passing all season is second in the conference only to Arkansas’ Tyler Wilson, and he has thrown for a school-record 32 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. With Georgia playing as well as they have all season in recent weeks and with Murray taking snaps, the Bulldogs believe they have a fighting chance against top-ranked and undefeated LSU entering Saturday’s SEC Championship game. The big buzz: Though his future with the New Orleans Hornets is anything but certain, Chris Paul tells The Times-Picayune that trade rumors won’t get in the way of his preparations for the upcoming season. Paul worked out at the Alario Center today for the first time since last season in preparation for training camp that is set to begin Dec. 9. “I don’t think about it, to tell you the truth,” Paul says of the trade rumors. “I’m just ready to get out here and compete. This is what I do. I have a very tight circle and they know this whole lockout thing has been driving me nuts. I’m just happy to get out on the court and compete.” Read the full story from The Times-Picayune here.

The big bust: A person with knowledge of the situation says the Minnesota Vikings have waived quarterback Donovan McNabb, giving the 13-year veteran the opportunity to sign with another team for the stretch run. The person spoke to The Associated Press today on condition of anonymity because the team has not yet announced the decision. The Vikings declined immediate comment. McNabb was in the locker room when it was open to reporters today, but he wasn’t on the field an hour later when practice began. Christian Ponder was promoted to replace McNabb as the starter after relieving him in the fourth quarter at Chicago on Oct. 16. McNabb threw only two interceptions in six games, but struggled to get the offense running.
