Talk of a rematch between LSU and Alabama for the BCS National Championship game slated for Jan. 9 in New Orleans was in full swing before Saturday’s kickoff, and it has only intensified since the Tigers 9-6 overtime win. When asked about the possibility following the game, coach Les Miles said he would “be honored to face that team again.” Tigers safety Brandon Taylor and guard Will Blackwell, however, both told The Times-Picayune they’ve had enough of Alabama for one season. “I wouldn’t want to play them again,” Taylor says in the story you can read here. Alabama dropped just one spot to No. 3 in the BCS poll following the loss, and the team separating them from LSU—unbeaten Oklahoma State—will likely have to lose in the next three weeks to open the door for an LSU-Alabama rematch (assuming both SEC teams are able to win out the rest of the season). Oklahoma State still has in-state rival No. 6 Oklahoma to play in its final game of the season. Unbeaten Stanford, which is ranked No. 4 and also hopes for a shot at the title should it win out the season, faces No. 7 Oregon this weekend.
Today’s poll question: Should the Tigers advance to the BCS Championship Game, would you like to see them take on Alabama again for the title?
