Southern business owners have a brighter job forecast than the rest of the nation, according to a new survey released today. Fifty-three percent of the southern companies polled by Right Management say they predict “practically no” staff cutbacks in 2011, compared with 52% of businesses polled nationwide. Eight percent of regional businesses plan “a modest number” of staff cutbacks, compared with 15% nationwide; and while 5% of all businesses plan a significant level of cutbacks, 3% of southern companies are looking at doing so. Right Management polled more than 700 firms across the U.S., including nearly 100 in the South.
