Eleven destinations in four states along Interstate 10 and the Gulf of Mexico are joining together in a new marketing effort, calling the region “SouthCoast USA.” The destinations are between Lake Charles on the west and Pensacola, Fla., on the east. Organizers say the area offers everything from golf, seafood and casinos to the beaches and waters of the Gulf Islands National Seashore to a multicultural history that includes French, British and Spanish influences dating back to the 1500s. Details on locations, attractions and accommodations can be found at southcoastusa.com. In Louisiana, SouthCoast destinations include, in addition to Lake Charles, New Orleans, Lafayette, Houma, Baton Rouge and the Northshore. In Mississippi, the SouthCoast area includes Ocean Springs and the state’s West Coast, including Waveland, Kiln, Diamondhead and Bay St. Louis. In Alabama, SouthCoast USA includes Mobile Bay and the Gulf Shores area, including Dauphin Island and Orange Beach.
