Shreveport’s Academy Award-winning Moonbot Studios laid off an undisclosed number of employees last week.

The Shreveport Times reports that former employees signed a nondisclosure agreement that is contingent upon receiving severance packages, but some employees revealed on social media that they are looking for jobs after their roles at the animation company were eliminated.

The newspaper writes that there has been speculation for several weeks that Moonbot Studios had been sold and may be leaving Shreveport, which has struggled for years with a declining movie industry.

The elimination of jobs was the first concrete indication of changes at the studio, although it remains unclear what more may be in the offing.
