Shaw’s Fabrication & Manufacturing Group announced a new joint venture today with Empresa Brasileira de Solda Eletrica S.A., a leading manufacturer and fabricator in Brazil. The joint venture, known as ES3 do Brasil, will provide prefabrication services for carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy piping systems from two existing facilities: one in the state of Pernambuco and another in Rio de Janeiro. “Shaw has the unique capability to support Brazil’s growing economy and its infrastructure needs through our world-class piping systems,” says Shaw Fabrication & Manufacturing Group President David Chapman in a statement. “This joint venture will combine Shaw’s technology and production techniques with EBSE’s history of servicing the Brazilian market. As a result, we are enhancing our competitive position in one of the world’s most important emerging markets.” ES3 do Brasil will support the Brazilian infrastructure, power, petrochemical, and oil and gas industries. Shaw’s induction pipe-bending technology will also be introduced into the market, as well as its high-efficiency production and management techniques for pipe fabrication.
