The U.S. Navy has awarded Kings Bay Support Services—a joint venture between The Shaw Group’s Environmental & Infrastructure Group and CSC’s North American Public Sector’s Defense Group—a contract to provide support services at the Naval Submarine Base in Kings Bay, Ga. Under the terms of the agreement, KBSS will provide services critical to daily operations, such as public safety, security, telecommunications, technical management and facilities support beginning Dec. 1. The eight-year contract has a maximum value of approximately $270 million if all options are exercised. It includes a one-year base period, four one-year options and three award options. Shaw and CSC have worked together previously to provide facilities support at NASA’s Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, as well as launch operations support at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. The Naval Submarine Base in Kings Bay is responsible for the readiness of submarines and crews in support of current and future maritime and fleet tasking. The base is home to the U.S. Navy’s Atlantic Fleet Ballistic Missile Submarine Force and the Strategic Weapons Facility, Atlantic. Headquartered in Falls Church, Va., CSC specializes in providing technology-enabled business solutions and services on a global scale. The company has approximately 97,000 employees and reported annual revenue of $16.2 billion.
