The Shaw Group says it is shutting down a pipe fabrication plant in West Monroe at the end of June, a move that will lay off 202 employees. The Baton Rouge-based company says it was closing Shaw Process Fabricators because of the current economic climate. The plant manufactures fabricated pipe and fittings and does an estimated $11 million in annual business. Shaw says it will work with the Louisiana Workforce Commission to provide job search tools.
