Running back Charles Scott and offensive lineman Ciron Black, a pair of second-team All-SEC players, announced this afternoon they would return to LSU for their senior seasons. Scott ran for 1,174 yards and 18 touchdowns this past season. The rushing yardage was the fifth-highest, single-season total in the Tigers’ history. His 18 rushing touchdowns was one shy of the school record set by LaBrandon Toefield in 2001. Black has been LSU’s starting left offensive tackle for the past three years. He started 40 consecutive games and had a team-best 68 knockdowns. Earlier today, ESPN.com reported that junior wide receiver Brandon LaFell would enter the NFL Draft. LaFell had 63 catches for 929 yards and eight touchdowns this season, averaging 14.7 yards per catch. No announcement regarding LaFell’s status was made at the news conference. The Times-Picayune is reporting that sophomore quarterback Andrew Hatch will not come back to LSU. The newspaper says Hatch didn’t enroll for the spring semester.
