Rouses, a Thibodaux-based supermarket chain with a growing Capital Region presence, has announced new leadership, the Houma Courier reports.
Steve Black, president of Lucky’s Market, a grocery chain that focuses on organic products, is Rouses’ new president and chief operating officer.
The announcement, posted on the company’s Facebook page Monday night, was made by Donny Rouse, who previously held the title of managing partner and was recently named CEO of the 56-year-old family-owned company.
“Steve brings another level of expertise to our business,” Rouse says in a news release that was quoted by several grocery-industry online trade journals. “He has an enormous passion for the business, and key management experience at all levels from operations to marketing and IT.”
Rouses, one of the Houma-Thibodaux area’s largest employers, employs more than 5,000 people at stores across Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
The grocery store chain announced in October it was going to buy the nine LeBlanc’s Food Stores locations in the Capital Region, further solidifying Rouses’ footprint in the Baton Rouge area market. Rouses has other Capital Region locations in the Juban Crossing shopping center in Livingston Parish and off Airline Highway in Baton Rouge.
The Houma Courier has more on the leadership change at Rouses.
