Original location remains: Los Reyes on Lee Drive is closing, with the restaurant thanking customers for years of loyalty and support. The restaurant’s original location on Coursey Boulevard will remain open and continue serving its menu favorites and margaritas. Customers can visit the remaining location at 11333 Coursey Blvd. in Baton Rouge.

Market stalled: U.S. existing-home sales rose 1.5% in September from August to an annualized rate of 3.99 million, but fell 2.2% compared with a year earlier as rising mortgage rates and home prices continued to weigh on demand. The national median existing-home price climbed 1.3% year over year to a September record of $417,500, while the average 30-year mortgage rate reached 7.4%, its highest level in nearly three years. Balancing act: The Trump administration plans to require oil refiners to blend additional biofuels in 2026 and 2027 to offset volumes excluded under small-refinery exemptions, aiming to preserve markets for corn- and soy-based fuels. The Environmental Protection Agency’s proposal would reallocate 100% of the exempted 2025 volumes to future blending obligations, a move welcomed by farm and biofuel groups but criticized by refiners who warn it could increase fuel costs. The proposal remains subject to public comment through Dec. 4, highlighting the administration’s effort to balance support for farmers with concerns about refinery profitability and consumer prices.
