Hollywood-bound: Southern University’s Darrell Roberson has been selected for the 2026 Alex Trebek Legacy Fellowship, the university announced Friday. Roberson is co-director and chair of Southern’s digital media arts program and its Title III activity director. The fellowship, awarded by the Television Academy Foundation in Hollywood, California, supports educators from community colleges and minority-serving institutions in attending the foundation’s annual Media Educators Conference. The three-day conference will take place Oct. 21-23 at the Television Academy’s North Hollywood campus, connecting college educators with television industry professionals through seminars on the art, science and business of television.

Now open: A new modern Chinese restaurant called Mudan Modern Asian Cuisine has opened in Baton Rouge. The Perkins Road eatery from the team behind Mid City’s Daruma Ramen serves dim sum, soup dumplings, housemade rice noodle dishes, classic Chinese favorites and broad vegetarian options. It hosted a soft opening Oct. 6; a grand opening is forthcoming. The Daruma team is also planning to open a revolving sushi bar called Zuma next year, also in Mid City. 225 has the full story.

Mum’s the word: Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh said Friday he won’t prejudge what the U.S. central bank will do about interest rates at its upcoming meetings in October and December. The Fed increased its key interest rate by a quarter-point to about 3.9% in September, its first increase in three years, and stubbornly elevated U.S. inflation will likely lead it to hike that rate again in coming months to slow spending and help cool price pressures. But Warsh offered no fresh signals during a “fireside chat” with International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva at a meeting of financial leaders in Bangkok. “At the Federal Reserve, we made very clear that we would deliver price stability, and we removed a dose of accommodation about a month ago,” Warsh said. “I don’t prejudge meetings. I don’t believe in saying now what I might do at the meetings that we have in the balance of this year.” The Associated Press has the full story.
