Skates, skirts and scars rule as the Red Stick Roller Derby presents a double-header bout Saturday at the River Center. First up, the rookie Capital Defenders will take on the Hattiesburg Hooligans from Mississippi in a knockdown, drag-out bout. Then, Baton Rouge’s all-stars, the Diables Rouges, will battle the Hub City Southern Misfits. These spirited ladies will teach you a whole new meaning of “Hell on Wheels” as they fight it out on the track at the opening bout of the season. Tickets are $12 in advance, $14 at the door; and kids under 12 get in free when accompanied by an adult. VIP tickets, which give you unparalleled views of the tracks from the raised bleachers, are $17. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. Click here for tickets and more information, and read this week’s complete 225 Select newsletter here.
