Long-shot presidential candidate and former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer is once again being excluded from participating in a debate with his fellow GOP candidates. Roemer was first left out of a nationally televised debate hosted by Politico and NBC News earlier this month. Now he finds himself offstage of tonight’s debate hosted by Fox News and Google, set for 8 p.m. “After proudly gaining my 1% in the latest Fox News poll, having started with zero name recognition, I must again ask—why am I being excluded?” Roemer says in a prepared statement. “Even when I garner the required 1% needed to qualify, Fox News has decided to exclude me. I am the only candidate who has been a congressman and a governor, but apparently that is not good enough for the debate sponsors.” Roemer has taken up temporary residence in New Hampshire while he campaigns, and has most recently been stumping in Florida and North Carolina.
