Former Gov. Buddy Roemer is preparing to hold a rally Saturday in Bossier City, where he could formally announce plans to run for the Republican presidential nomination. The Shreveport Times says at the Saturday evening rally Roemer is set to announce his presidential aspirations. Roemer formed an exploratory committee for a presidential bid but hasn’t formally declared his intentions to enter the GOP race. He has made frequent trips to New Hampshire, Iowa and South Carolina, three crucial early primary states.
