Former Gov. Buddy Roemer is set to announce at 1:30 p.m. today that he is creating an exploratory committee for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination. In advance of the announcement, Roemer made the media rounds. He appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe today, saying he was “humble and nervous” about the announcement. To see the video, click here. Roemer was also profiled by the influential online magazine Politico, testing out lines he will use on the campaign trail. “The nation is hurting with 9% unemployment, 9% underemployment and 5% of the people who have quit looking for jobs, yet Washington is a boom town—what’s wrong with that picture?” Roemer says.
