The family that owns Richards Honda has purchased an additional 8.3 acres in developer Windy Gladney’s The Greens at Millerville, a planned mixed-use development at Interstate 12 and Millerville Road.
Jarich LLC, represented by Kent Richards, paid Appropriate Real Estate LLC, represented by Gladney, $2 million for the additional acreage. The deal closed Sept. 29, according to court records.
Roughly 17 acres in The Greens at Millerville has now been carved out for the new dealership, says Richards Honda General Manager Con Lemoine.
The newly purchased land is directly behind the acres Jarich LLC purchased for the dealership earlier this year, Lemoine says, adding that the new dealership will be at least double size of Richard Honda’s current location at 7791 Florida Blvd.
“We’ve been in business in Baton Rouge for 45 years, longer than the any other Honda dealership in the state,” Lemoine says. “Nothing that we’ve done in the past compares to the scale of what we’re planning to do in The Greens at Millerville.”
The dealership will be joined in the development by Buc-ee’s, a sales and service center for The RV Shop, a Golden Corral restaurant and a 320-unit apartment complex.
