Gov. Bobby Jindal will be in Monroe at noon today to announce plans for an expansion at CenturyLink. According to The (Monroe) News-Star, the telecommunications company plans to add from 500 to 700 jobs at its headquarters, expand the facility and announce a new partnership with Louisiana Tech. Jindal told the newspaper today’s announcement is “transformational.” “This will mean hundreds of new, great-paying jobs,” Jindal says. CenturyLink, one of three Fortune 500 companies in the state, already has 1,500 employees in Monroe and a $70 million payroll.
