Bayou Country Superfest will not take place in LSU’s Tiger Stadium for a two-year period because of planned renovations to bathrooms, concessions stands and other improvements, LSU Athletics has announced.
The updates are scheduled to take place during the offseasons following the 2016 and 2017 football seasons. Bayou Country Superfest takes place over a three-day span in May.
“It’s been a great event for our community, LSU and Tiger Stadium,” LSU vice chancellor and director of athletics Joe Alleva says in a statement. “We are in a position where we have to make these necessary improvements to Tiger Stadium, and the only time that we can do this is during the offseason.”
Daily Report was unable to reach organizers of the event before this morning’s publication for clarification on what lies ahead for the music festival that has called Tiger Stadium home since 2010.
A statement from Quint Davis, the festival’s director, is included in the news release LSU Athletics issued late Thursday night. In it, Davis thanks Alleva.
“We’ll explore alternatives to keep presenting what has become one of the biggest annual country music festivals in the South,” Davis says.
