Romans 8:31-35 poses seven strategic questions, which, if affirmatively answered, bring a convincing that is needed for life. Life with convictions/being convinced brings solidarity. The first question is, “What shall we say to these things?” that are stated in verses 26 to 30. These things are: 1. Even when we don’t know how to pray as we should, the Spirit Himself intercedes for believers according to the will of God. That’s confidence! 2. God works all things together for good, for those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. This purpose is that God uses all things to conform us to the image of His Son. Knowing God works all things (waste nothing) to make believers more like His Son brings meaningful purpose. 3. Not only has God predestined us for the purpose of being conformed to His Son, we are also called (royalty); justified (accepted); and glorified (secure hope). So what shall we say to these things? Wow; what backing by the Spirit; what a sculpting Father to conform us to His Son; what a calling/acceptance/and solid hope! What do you say?
