From restaurateurs and small business owners to online retailers and product developers, eight local entrepreneurs will share brief bits of business wisdom in rapid fire succession at a new event being held on the LSU campus next month in conjunction with Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week.
Dubbed Rapid Rounds, the event—hosted by Business Report and the LSU Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute—will give participants a chance to hear each entrepreneur dish on what makes them and their business tick during quick 12-minute presentations. The entrepreneurs presenting are:
- Mike Hackley, president of ShoppersChoice.com
- Ned Pearson, president and CEO of AudioBomb and Southern Authority
- Jenni Peters, founder of Varsity Sports
- Dave Roberts, CEO of EXCEL Group
- Ruffin Rodrigue, co-owner of Ruffino’s Restaurant
- Emmet Stephenson, chairman of Domain.com Inc.
- Toni Stephenson, president of Domain.com Inc.
- Mo Vij, CEO of General Informatics
Rapid Rounds will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 17, in the Business Education Complex on the LSU campus. The event will kick off at 7 p.m. and conclude with a networking session from 8:40 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $30 and are available online.
Rapid Rounds is a new event for BREW, which is now in its fifth year and will take place Nov. 16-22. The weeklong celebration of all things entrepreneurial is annually held in conjunction with Global Entrepreneurship Week. Local events include a mix of pitch competitions, national keynote addresses, educational programs, panel discussions, networking events and opportunities for angel investors to see new businesses.
