Raising Cane’s was recently named the fastest-growing restaurant chain in the country by Nation’s Restaurant News, and Business Insider says that ought to “terrify” rivals like Chick-fil-A and KFC.
Raising Cane’s sets itself apart from competitors by offering a minimalist menu and restaurant design, and—of course—the mystery sauce that so many “caniacs” are addicted to.
“Raising Cane’s tightly focused menu is an anomaly in the fast-food fried-chicken business: It keeps attention tightly centered on chicken fingers and essentially nothing else,” Business Insider reports. “At the end of the day, that’s all it takes. The quality of Raising Cane’s chicken fingers raises the bar for all chicken chains. As the up-and-coming chain continues to advance, rivals like KFC and Chick-fil-A should be scared.”
Founded in Baton Rouge near LSU, Raising Cane’s sales increased by 25.6% in 2016, leading to the chain snagging the top spot in NRN’s annual ranking of the fastest-growing chains by sales.
Raising Cane’s has 310 restaurants across the nation, opening 59 new restaurants in the past year alone.
