RaceTrac is continuing its expansion in the Baton Rouge market. In a deal that closed Monday, the Georgia-based company acquired two adjacent parcels totaling roughly 60,000 square feet at 1683 O’Neal Lane for $960,000. The land is in the parking lot in front of the Hobby Lobby store.
Mark Hebert of Kurz & Hebert Commercial Real Estate, who represented RaceTrac in the transaction, says the company plans to build a gas station/convenience store, its 11th in the local market and its second on O’Neal Lane.
“They love Baton Rouge,” Hebert says. “This is a good market for them.”
RaceTrac acquired the parcels from two separate ownership groups—Builders Center LLC, which sold a 22,000-square-foot parcel for $350,000, and H&E Properties, which sold a 38,000-square-foot parcel for $610,000.
RaceTrac operates more than 650 retail gasoline convenience stores in 12 Southeastern states under the RaceTrac and RaceWay names.
