PreSonus of Baton Rouge has made available a free update and enhancement for its AudioBox 1818VSL interface and provides new features for its AudioBox USB, AudioBox 22VSL and AudioBox 44VSL, and audio/MIDI interfaces. The biggest enhancement for the AudioBox 1818VSL is that a free app has been added for the iPad: the AB1818VSL Remote, which is available at the Apple App Store. The app allows control of every parameter in Virtual StudioLive for AudioBox 1818VSL from an iPad, says PreSonus, including volume, pan, aux sends, FX buses and Fat Channel parameters. As a result, users can use an AudioBox 1818VSL and a USB-connected laptop as a full-featured mixer-recorder for small gigs, rehearsal spaces, and mobile churches, while the iPad serves as a touchscreen-mixing surface. This free update is recommended for all AudioBox users. AudioBox 1.2 can be downloaded from the technical support section of the PreSonus website. For more information, visit presonus.com.
