Your Mom’s Restaurant and Bar, a popular Hammond eatery owned and operated by two Baton Rouge entrepreneurs, is opening a second location at 250 W. Lee Drive in the space formerly occupied by Louis DeAngelo’s.
Trent Fresina—who opened the Hammond restaurant with partner and fellow Catholic High School alumnus Joseph Ngo in 2010—says expanding Your Mom’s into Baton Rouge has always been part of their dream.
“We’re both from Baton Rouge and we always wanted to come back to our hometown,” Fresina says. “We hope to replicate here what we did in Hammond—staying with fresh, quality products.”
Fresina and Ngo are making an estimated $250,000 investment renovating the 4,500-square-foot space, which has been vacant since DeAngelo’s closed at that location several years ago. The restaurant will have a main dining room as well as private space for meetings or parties.
Your Mom’s specializes in burgers and gourmet sandwiches. Fresina says he hopes to capture segments of the student, family and young professional markets. The renovation should be complete in the next few weeks. Fresina says the restaurant hopes to open by mid September.
