An arrest has been made in connection with the bomb threat called into LSU Monday morning, LSU says. Late last night, William Bouvay Jr. 42, of Baton Rouge, was arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for alleged “communicating of false information of planned bombing.” At 10:30 a.m. Monday, a call was placed to the parish 911 center claiming there were multiple bombs on the LSU campus that would detonate in two hours. University officials called for a campuswide evacuation. LSU Police, with help from other law enforcement agencies, determined the 911 call had been made from a deactivated cell phone that could only make emergency calls, LSU says. Investigators were able to determine a GPS location on Skysail Avenue from which the call was made. After a search of the area, Bouvay, who lives on Skysail, was identified as a suspect, and during questioning, Bouvay admitted to having called 911 and making the bomb threat, LSU police say.
