Pinnacle Entertainment says there is a guaranteed completion date of May 31, 2012, for its L’Auberge Baton Rouge casino resort. That doesn’t mean the casino will open by that date, only that Pinnacle will get the building by then. The casino company disclosed the new date in a SEC filing, which was reported by The Gaming Industry Daily Report. L’Auberge Baton Rouge has been delayed by extreme alterations in Mississippi River water levels; first the river was too low to allow the gaming barge to be shipped in, then the water was too high to continue construction. The casino company also announced today that Michael Anthony Pearse has been hired as vice president of finance for the River Road casino. Pearse, a Louisiana native who earned an MBA from Southeastern Louisiana University, most recently served as executive director of finance for the Mandalay Bay casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
