Pinnacle Entertainment officials are scheduled to appear before the Louisiana Gaming Control Board today to discuss the company’s timetable for new casino resorts on River Road and in Lake Charles. In February, Pinnacle received a 90-day extension on its schedule for the south Baton Rouge and Sugarcane Bay riverboat complexes. Construction started on Sugarcane Bay in August, and the company has been developing plans for its $250 million River Road casino since a local option vote passed in early 2008. Company officials said the national credit meltdown had dried up loans for new casino projects. Pinnacle officials say the Las Vegas-based company is in good financial shape.
