GOP presidential candidate and Texas Gov. Rick Perry will be at a Lafayette reception today, an event Gov. Bobby Jindal is also slated to attend, to raise funds for his campaign. The fundraiser will take place at the home of Mike and Tiffany Moreno beginning at 5 p.m. Those attending are paying a minimum of $1,000 apiece to hear Perry speak, and up to $2,500 to have a photo taken with him as well. Perry made an immediate splash upon joining the GOP field in August and was an early frontrunner for the GOP nomination. He has since slipped in the polls but still figures to be a serious contender for the nomination.
