The Tiger Athletic Foundation has announced three new executive promotions and hires, as detailed in the Moving Up section of the new issue of Business Report.
Bunnie Cannon has been named executive director of development support services. An LSU alumnus and Baton Rouge native, Cannon is a career fundraising professional with more than 20 years of experience in principal and major gift fundraising cultivation and stewardship. She most recently served TAF as the executive director of planned giving and stewardship growing the program from the ground up.
Also, Derek Denton has been named executive director of development. Denton is returning to Baton Rouge, where he previously held the position of assistant director of development for TAF. He left TAF last year to serve as the executive director of the UNCW Student Aid Association, better known as the Seahawk Club, where he managed all fundraising activities and day-to-day operations as well as directing donor recognition and stewardship programs.
And lastly, Ben Ross has been named vice president of development. The promotion comes after Ross served as TAF’s executive director of development. An LSU alumnus and native of Marshall, Texas, Ross began working in athletic fundraising with the University of Oklahoma Sooner Club, where he managed the annual fund. TAF recruited him in 2006 to revamp the Foundation of Champions Scholarship Fund. He’s helped the program grow to almost $16 million, and has played a role in raising $85 million for major construction projects and programs benefitting LSU student athletes.
