Pennington Biomedical Research Foundation has a new director of leadership giving.
Kristy Mayes recently joined the foundation after serving as the development director for Kids’ Orchestra, an after-school music program.
Mayes has long been a staple in Baton Rouge’s nonprofit development and fundraising community. Her experience includes 17 years in professional development and several years as a volunteer.
She has also led professional fundraising campaigns for organizations like the Capital Area United Way, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, Runnels School and Greater New Orleans Area United Way.
Most recently, Mayes transformed individual giving initiatives at Kids’ Orchestra into a successful annual event, tripling their annual donor base.
The position was one of three high-profile vacancies at the Pennington Biomedical Research Foundation.
In other Capital Region professional news, Amy Phillips and Caitlin Craighead have launched Cultiv8 Creative, a local digital agency. Phillips manages business development and design, while Craighead oversees technology and implementation.
The partners have served clients in design and technology for 15 years—creating websites, print and branding designs for government, tourism, oil and gas, e-commerce and financial institutions.
