Mike Olivier, the former Louisiana Economic Development secretary, has been named chairman of the board for the Louisiana Technology Council. Olivier replaces John J. Kelly Jr., who had been LTC chairman for 15 years. Olivier is the CEO of the Committee of 100, a private nonprofit made up of the heads of the state’s leading businesses and top higher education officials. Mark Lewis, president of the technology council, says Olivier was a backer of the organization during his days as head of the LED under former Gov. Kathleen Blanco. “He brings a wealth of knowledge, support and leadership to the LTC,” Lewis says. Robert Shreve, the chairman and CEO of Gulf South Business Systems, a Baton Rouge-based company, was named vice chairman of the tech council.
