Olin is not reopening its St. Gabriel chlor alkali plant, but it is going ahead with a conversion and expansion project at the facility. The company says the decommissioning and preparation for expansion will not result in a reduction in the number of workers. Ninety people currently work at the plant, which manufactures products such as chlorine and caustic soda, sodium hydrosulfite and hydrochloric acid. The plant has been shut down since early December.
