Former NFL quarterback Bobby Hebert, the father of LSU senior offensive lineman T-Bob Hebert and host of a New Orleans-based radio show, challenged Tigers Coach Les Miles to explain his quarterback strategy after LSU’s 21-0 loss Monday night to Alabama in the BCS championship game. Starter Jordan Jefferson completed 7-of-11 passes for 53 yards and an interception, and he rushed 14 times for 15 yards and a fumble. Jarrett Lee, who started the first Tigers’ first nine games after Jefferson was suspended for his alleged involvement in an August bar fight, never entered the game.

The official transcript from the postgame interview includes Hebert’s rambling speech and question to Miles—”Do you think you should have pushed the football more downfield?”—and Miles’ answer: “If you watch our calls … we did throw the football down the field. We didn’t necessarily get the football down the field. And I can tell you that the pass rush—we did consider Jarrett Lee. But we felt like with the pass rush that we were getting that we needed a guy that could move the seat and not sustain that pass rush.” To read about the postgame exchange between Hebert and Miles, click here.
