Prepare for ‘Battle’: Zehnder Communications and Sony Pictures have launched a Battle: Los Angeles layer for mobile phones to promote the film’s DVD/Blu-ray/iTunes release on Tuesday. The multimedia features allow users to launch movie trailers and sneak previews, pre-order the movie and, perhaps most important, take screenshots of invading aliens and battle drones to share on social media sites and warn others. The layer can be downloaded here. Zehnder has offices in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Nashville. Battle: Los Angeles was filmed in Baton Rouge and Shreveport in 2009.
High demand: LSU and Oregon have both sold out their allotment of tickets for their season opening football game in Cowboys Stadium. The (Eugene, Ore.) Register Guard says Oregon season ticket holders gobbled up the school’s allotment of 15,000 tickets, while Tiger fans bought the 37,000 tickets set aside for LSU. Brian Broussard, LSU ticket manager, told the newspaper he expects 57,000 fans will request tickets to the game, which will be played Sept. 3 in Arlington, Texas. That would be the most requests LSU ever received for a game. This is the third year the college football season has kicked off with a high-profile game in Cowboys Stadium. Officials with the Cotton Bowl, which puts on the game, say this is the earliest that tickets have sold out. The game will be played at 7 p.m. Sept. 3 on ABC. LSU and Oregon are both ranked in the top five in preseason college football polls.
